This sermon encourages us to follow Jesus in every season of life no matter what the cost. It does this through drawing on the example of the Christian’s in Acts 4.
They had a faith in the sovereignty of God to continue moving and saving people regardless of what situations they faced. They were filled with the Holy Spirit which gave them boldness and courage to stand firm for God. They were convicted God’s Word was true and therefore were compelled to live it out. They held a deep conviction that God’s Word proclaims the truth that salvation can only be found in relationship with Jesus. Therefore, they were compelled to tell everyone about this.
These Christian’s didn’t simply sign up to believe in a number of intellectual truths. They spent time with Jesus himself and allowed these truths to transform their hearts. Thus, when they faced intimidation and persecution they made the decision to obey Jesus above anything else.
Lord, help us to live bold and courageous lives, saying yes daily to you that you might be glorified.
