This sermon reminds us just how much God cares and lavishes grace upon us.
Jonah understood God abounds in grace and mercy. For God had shown this to him powerfully across his life. Yet, Jonah didn’t feel this should be extended to the Ninevites because of his prejudice towards them.
Every follower of Jesus is called to in the power of the Holy Spirit show care, grace, and mercy to everyone around us. This includes to those who have acted wickedly and wronged us. We are also called to do this collectively as God’s Church shining his light into the world.
Lord, help us to see all people like you do, and to extend care, grace, and mercy to everyone around us.
