The Promise of the Spirit | Galatians 3:14

This sermon is a powerful encouragement to come to God expectantly for more of his presence.

Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would come after his ascension enabling God’s presence to remain with his people. After a period of waiting, this promise was fulfilled in a special way. The same Holy Spirit resides in all Christians today as a seal of our salvation.

However, the events of Pentecost, and numerous other promises in God’s Word remind us that there is much more for us to experience. God doesn’t want us to stay static but wants to keep lavishing us with his manifest presence afresh. To receive this we must simply come hungry and thirsty waiting upon God to bless us with these good gifts.

Lord, help us hunger and thirst after more of you, that we might bring you greater glory.
