Living In Freedom | Galatians 5:1-12

This sermon unpacks some of the ways we should be living in freedom if we are living by God’s grace.

Firstly, we should experience freedom in our relationship with God. Freedom from thoughts that tell us God’s saving grace is not fully sufficient. Freedom to know we are fully accepted as children of God, with a glorious inheritance, not because of our actions but because we are one with Christ.

Secondly, we should experience freedom from falling from grace. Freedom from patterns of thought that creep in telling us that our sinful and/or lazy week means we must do good works to come before God again. Freedom to know God’s grace is sufficient.

Thirdly, we should experience freedom to live by faith. Freedom to live our lives in ways that demonstrates the transformative work of God in us. For instance, loving those around us in word and deed.

Finally, we should experience freedom to walk the righteous path. Freedom to identify and repel the things or people that seek to cut in to stop us living grace filled lives.

Lord, help us to lives our lives evermore in the freedom that Christ won for us, knowing at all times that your grace is sufficient.
