The creation story confirms Gods supreme Lordship over the heavens and the earth. It also confirms his supreme Lordship over everything created to exist within the heavens and the earth as described in this chapter.
We were encouraged to spend time meditating on Gods creation and marvelling at the amazing power at the disposal of the creator. For who else has the power to create with their words, an earth filled with such beauty, complexity and vastness? This surely leaves us wanting to worship this God.
We were also reminded that God is a good God. He uses his power as displayed in the creation story to create good things. God is also intimately involved with his creation and delights in it. The the shining example of Gods goodness, is the Son of God himself coming to earth, to pay the price for us on the cross, defeating death and rising up victoriously.
