This sermon declares that God Is Light! He is Light because he shines perfect truth and revelation into a dark world. God is also Light because he is morally perfect, without fault, and lavishes this goodness abundantly upon us. These truths about Gods character are embodied in Jesus Christ and shine winsomely into the whole world.
Therefore, we are invited to follow Jesus, and walk in the Light. This is done by putting our faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Our journey of walking in the the Light should continue as we follow Jesus’ example of showing love and compassion with those around us through our actions. But what then for followers who sin and appear to walk in the darkness? We are instructed to confess our sins drawing upon the precious blood of Christ that cleansed us and first allowed us to walk in the Light. Thus God’s amazing grace abounds evermore.
