This sermon proclaims the wondrous truth that God is always just and merciful.
God is the just judge who will not leave sin unpunished. For he is perfect in of all his ways. Therefore, all people of every nation, tribe, and tongue will be judged by the just judge Jesus Christ.
However, God is simultaneously the merciful one who provides a way of forgiveness that means we don’t have to face the consequences of our sin. His mercy goes way beyond our shortcomings.
The way of forgiveness is through believing in Jesus Christ. That he died in our place, taking upon himself the just punishment for our actions, and in return gives us his righteousness.
Lord, help us to rejoice in the glorious truth that you are both just and merciful. Oh what an incredible God you are!
