This sermon focuses on three stupendous truths about God’s nature, stirring us to worship him, and having a greater confidence in who he is.
Firstly, God is eternal. God has always been and will always be who he is. Time itself like the whole of creation submits to him. This is in contrast to humans who are always becoming, growing, and developing. No matter what we face in life, if we have placed our faith in God, we can truly know that God carries us in his eternal arms.
Secondly, God is self-existent. God is entirely independent and does not depend on creation to be who he is. Unlike creation that depends on others to find out existence. Therefore, if we want to experience life to the full, we should pursue the self-existent one.
Finally, God is unchanging. God being perfect and above time cannot logically change who he is. Yet, in love, he accommodates us by presenting in ways we can understand. This is great news for all who believe, because we delight in our amazing unchanging God and all his faithful promises.
Lord, help our minds grasp these stupendous truths in a deeper way for your glory.
