This sermon unpacks what it means to be crucified with Christ and explains why this is fantastic news.
Paul is addressing those in the Church arguing that salvation by faith alone in Jesus encourages believers to continuing sinning. He reminds the Galatians, that they were dead in their sins unable to work their way out, and this is why the blameless one Jesus Christ died on the cross. So, that through faith in his life work, we might receive his righteousness through being crucified with and resurrected with him.
In this new life, Jesus lives inside of us by and through the Holy Spirit. We live in complete submission to him, as an ambassador for him and as part of a spiritual body seeking to bring him glory. Our lives continue to be transformed throughout our lives as we gaze upon the object of our faith Jesus Christ.
Lord, we thank you for the gracious gift of salvation, and pray you continue to transform us to be more Christ like as we live our the new lives you’ve given us.
