This sermon encourages us to eagerly desire the spiritual gifts, especially the gifts of tongues and prophecy.
The gift of prophecy is God speaking to us to build up the church, which is always consistent with scripture. Prophecy should be spoken in love, grace and humility as God would speak to His children. Words of prophecy should be spoken simply and the outcome is to be left in Gods hands.
The gift of tongues is when we speak to God in a heavenly language given to us by God. This can be a personal tongue to build up yourself before God. It can also be a public tongue that requires interpretation.
Lord, help us to eagerly desire the gifts of prophecy and tongues, that your church may be built up and your name glorified. Amen.
