This sermon focuses on the wisdom Moses provides the next generation of God’s people with as he is soon to depart.
Moses’ main message proclaims it is all about the Lord’s presence and power. The Lord is present going before His people into the promised land. He is also present being alongside his people as they make this journey. God’s presence and power is always with his people.
This glorious truth of God’s constant presence is the reason Moses can instruct the people to be strong and courageous. Strength to stand firm through the storms, doubts, and opposition to be faced in entering the promised land. Courage to step forward boldly into all that God had for his people.
God’s presence is the reason Moses also instructs the people to not be held back by fear and dismay. For if God’s very presence is with them what fears and potential disappointments can stand against him.
Lord, thank you for this wise proclamation of truth that reminds us your presence is always with your people. Help us to be strong, courageous, and to not fear as we live in this glorious truth.
