This sermon encourages Christian’s to use our Christ won freedom as an opportunity to serve one another.
All Christian’s have freedom from the consequences of their sin, and to be fully accepted as child of God. This freedom presents us with a firm foundation upon which to live our lives. However, it also presents us with two directly opposed opportunities; Using our freedom as an opportunity to pursue sinful desires and passions vs Using our freedom as an opportunity to serve one another.
We are urged to follow in the footsteps of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who perfected using freedom as an opportunity to serve all people. As we live and walk by the Spirit, we are guided, directed, and empowered to imitate Jesus in doing this. The outcome being that we find ourselves resisting the opportunities of the flesh that Christ saved us from and abounding in the fruit of the Spirit more and more.
Lord, help us to live and walk by the Spirit evermore, that we might use the freedom Christ won for us to serve one another.
