42 Generations – Matthew 1:1-17
Matthew’s Gospel, Matthew’s Christmas story begins with a genealogy of 42 generations. This genealogy reveals the heart and purposes of God in sending his Son, Jesus Christ.
We have devoted significant time as a Church to preaching through the whole Gospel of Matthew. In this wonderful book of the Bible, Jesus is depicted as the King of the Kingdom of Heaven. As he works and teaches, he calls us to follow him and become citizens of this blissfully happy kingdom. And he wins our access by dying on the cross for our sins and rising again on Easter Sunday in glory.
