1 Peter – Aliens have landed!

At the start of 1 Peter, Peter calls his readers and us “Elect Exiles” or in the NASB “Those residing as aliens, chosen by God”.  When we become Christians, we are adopted into the family of God and heaven becomes our home.  At the same time, we suddenly become strangers in the world.  Our identity in God can sometimes make us feel like aliens, even in our home town.

This sermon series going through the book of 1 Peter, looks at what it means to live as a Chosen Alien, as a Christian, in the midst of a secular world.

An identity wrapped up in all three persons of the Trinity

To be a Christian, to be a chosen alien, is to be chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sancitification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ & to be sprinkled with his blood.  Our identity as Christians is wrapped up in all three persons of the Godhead, the glorious Trinity!
